Privacy Policy

Last updated: 15 June 2026

postd ("the app", "we", "us") is built and provided by Saltwater Digital Limited (company number 16616025), registered office 42 East Street, First Floor Offices, Newquay, England, TR7 1BE, a company registered in England and Wales. This policy explains how postd handles your information. The short version: postd works almost entirely on your device, and we never collect, see, or store your photos or personal data. The one exception is that postd uses Apple's maps service to turn trip locations into place names, explained under "Location and place names" below.

What postd accesses

postd needs access to your photo library to do its job: helping you review and tidy your holiday photos. When you grant access, postd reads your photos and the date and location your camera already saved with each one, so it can identify your trips and let you keep, delete, or favourite images. You tell postd where your home is by typing it in. postd does not request location permission and never accesses your device's live location.

What postd does NOT do

All photo analysis, including grouping your photos into trips, happens locally on your device. (Turning a trip's location into a readable place name uses Apple's maps service; see "Location and place names" below.)

Location and place names

postd groups your photos into trips using two things your camera already saved with each photo: the date it was taken and, where present, the GPS coordinates embedded in the photo's metadata. postd reads these on your device. postd does not ask for your device's location and has no location permission, and it never tracks where you are.

To label a trip with a readable place name (for example, showing "Lisbon, Portugal" instead of raw coordinates), postd sends that location to Apple's maps service to look up the name. The same happens, in reverse, if you set a home location: the address you type is sent to Apple's maps service to find its coordinates. These lookups are handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy. postd does not store, log, or transmit these lookups anywhere else, and no images are ever sent.

Your photos, your videos, and every keep/delete/favourite decision you make stay on your iPhone. They are never uploaded to postd or to anyone else.

Third-party services

postd uses one third-party service: Apple's maps/geocoding service, solely to turn locations into place names (and home addresses into coordinates), as described above. postd has no servers of its own, no account system, and no analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting services. We do not collect, see, or receive any data about you or your photos.

Deleting and editing photos

When you choose to delete a photo in postd, the action is carried out through your device's standard photo system, with the usual recovery options Apple provides (for example, your "Recently Deleted" album). You remain in control of your own photo library at all times.

Payments

postd is a paid app. Payment is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see or store your payment card details. Apple's own privacy policy governs that transaction.

Children

postd is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. As postd collects no personal data at all, there is no data for it to knowingly collect from anyone, children included.

Your rights

Because postd stores no personal data about you on our side, there is nothing for us to access, correct, or delete on your behalf. To remove all app data, simply delete the app. Photos remain in your device's photo library and are unaffected by deleting postd.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy if the app changes. The "last updated" date above will reflect any change. Material changes will be reflected in the app or on this page.
